“Two 25-foot ceramic murals at East Cowes Waitrose celebrate the Isle of Wight’s history, inventions, and iconic cultural highlights.”
The Isle of Wight is a place steeped in history, creativity, and a remarkable spirit of invention. From its Victorian seaside charm to its connections with pioneering aviation and engineering, the island has long been a source of inspiration. It's famous for its literary connections, beautiful landscapes, and most notably, for producing innovations that have left a mark far beyond its shores.
I'm thrilled to have taken an unusual creative departure with two 25-foot ceramic murals installed at the Waitrose store on Well Road, East Cowes, right as you arrive via the Red Funnel ferry terminal. These murals celebrate the many remarkable things to come out of the Isle of Wight, capturing its inventive spirit, natural beauty, and cultural heritage.

And a fun personal twist - I'm also the pilot depicted in the Supermarine S.B.6 Racer, one of the island's iconic aviation achievements. It's been a joy to merge the Isle of Wight's rich history with my own playful take on its celebrated inventions. Cheers to creativity, history, and a little island magic!
